About

Hello, I’m Salima

I’m an entrepreneur, a writer, and a woman who has built her life one page at a time.

Welcome to Edit Your Inner World, a quiet place for women who love to journal, reflect, and grow.

For women who are tired of being carried from one wave to the next and are ready to become more intentional about the lives they create.

I believe that while we cannot always control what happens around us, we can learn to understand ourselves, question our beliefs, and respond differently to life.

And sometimes, that journey begins with something as simple as picking up a pen.

The Day I Discovered Solitude

When I was 16, my father fell ill, and our lives changed overnight. He had been the one holding everything together, and suddenly, we had to learn to stand on our own.

One afternoon, my brother and I had planned to go to the movies. He could drive, I couldn’t, and he left without me.

I had a choice.

I could sit at home, upset about something I couldn’t control, or I could use my own two legs, find a cab, and go to the movies alone.

So, I went.

And that small decision changed something in me.

I discovered that being alone didn’t have to mean being lonely. I could enjoy my own company, make my own decisions, and experience life without waiting for someone to accompany me.

In solitude, I found something precious: space.

Space to think, to feel, to listen to myself, and to discover what I truly wanted.

That experience stayed with me.

Years later, it gave me the courage to travel all the way to Asia, where I knew no one and had no family waiting for me.

Was I afraid? Terrified.

But I was there, and I kept going.

One day at a time, I learned to navigate an unfamiliar world and build a life of my own.

Looking back, I realize that the girl who went to the movies alone had taught me something invaluable.

I could be afraid and still move forward.

My Journaling Story

My older sisters introduced me to journaling.

They kept diaries recounting their days, and I began by doing the same. I wrote for several years before gradually losing the habit.

Then came a period of my life when I desperately needed to reconnect with myself.

Between 2017 and 2021, I felt frantic and overwhelmed.

I started countless things but struggled to finish them. I felt trapped in my own life, frustrated by my circumstances, and increasingly dissatisfied with the way I was living.

I complained. I blamed. I repeated the same frustrations.

And eventually, I grew tired of hearing myself tell the same stories.

I began to recognize that although I couldn’t control everything happening around me, I was spending far too much energy reacting to it.

Something had to change.

So, I picked up my pen again.

Not because I had all the answers, but because I was finally willing to ask myself some difficult questions.

What was I thinking? Why was I responding this way? What was I avoiding? What did I actually want? And what was I willing to do differently?

The page became a place where I could be honest with myself without performing, pretending, or making excuses.

And slowly, things began to change.

How the Page Changed My Life

Much of what I have managed to build began with working on myself.

With sitting down, opening a journal, and being willing to tell myself the truth.

The first journal I created, Responding Differently to Life, helped me become more aware of my reactions and recognize that I didn’t have to respond to every situation out of habit.

I could pause.

I could question my interpretation.

I could choose a response that reflected the woman I wanted to become.

Then came If Today Was Your Forever, a wake-up call that challenged me to examine how I was spending my days.

If I had to live this same day over and over, would I be happy with the life I was creating?

What was I waiting for?

What experiences, dreams, and desires was I continually postponing?

These questions weren’t always comfortable, but they helped me become more intentional about how I wanted to live.

Later, as a certified money mindset coach, I began guiding other women through reflective practices.

I witnessed the power of giving women space to examine their beliefs, understand their patterns, process difficult experiences, and recognize possibilities they hadn’t previously considered.

And through it all, one belief became increasingly clear to me:

An unexamined life costs too much.

It costs us time, money, relationships, opportunities, and peace of mind.

What I Believe

We don’t have a remote control for the world.

We cannot make people behave the way we want, prevent every disappointment, or arrange life so that nothing ever goes wrong.

But we can learn to understand ourselves and become more intentional about how we navigate what happens.

The answers are often already within you.

I don’t believe my role is to tell you who to become or how to live. My work is to help you create enough space to hear your own voice, examine your beliefs, and discover what is right for you.

Everything begins with a pause.

A pause between what happens and how we respond. A moment to question an old story, recognize a familiar pattern, or consider another possibility.

Real change takes time.

There is no such thing as planting a seed today and waking up to a fully grown tree tomorrow.

Growth requires patience, attention, and consistent care. Some changes happen quietly, long before we can see their results.

And that is perfectly fine.

How We Work Together

At Edit Your Inner World, journaling is more than recording what happened during your day.

It is a practice of getting to know yourself, becoming aware of your inner world, and learning to participate more intentionally in your own life.

Our journey follows four gentle steps.

  1. Meet Yourself on the Page

Create space to understand your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and recurring patterns. Begin listening to your own voice.

  1. Respond Differently to Life

Learn to pause before reacting, question familiar interpretations, and choose responses that reflect the woman you are becoming.

  1. Do the Forgiveness Work

Explore the hurt, resentment, regrets, and stories you may still be carrying. Make room for healing, self-compassion, and a different relationship with your past.

  1. Explore Your Deepest Desires

Give yourself permission to dream, discover what you truly want, and begin creating a life that feels meaningful to you.

My vision is to work with small, intimate circles of women who have decided that this is their season to change.

Not forever, but for a season.

Until they have developed the confidence, self-awareness, and inner resources to continue their journey on their own.

Until they’ve built their own wings and are ready to fly.

Ready to Meet Yourself on the Page?

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You don’t need a perfect plan, a beautiful journal, or the right words.

You only need a little curiosity and the willingness to begin.
